Liam has been a big asset to the team in the past, so hopefully the team will give him time to work out his problems. Lewi Ward is available and granted he doesn't have as strong a leg as Liam but he has been very accurate in previous years. Wonder if the team will give him a call? While posing questions---what is going on with Dejon Allen? Surely, unless he is still carrying an injury, wouldn't he be better than any of our present OTs?

Ward was pretty bad last year. His weak leg alone scares me.shatto wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2026 10:29 pm Liam has been a big asset to the team in the past, so hopefully the team will give him time to work out his problems. According to PFF, Allen has been effective this year for BC. He has only allowed 9 pressures and 1 sack on an o-line that has struggled. I feel like he could thrive again in Toronto.

I’d rather see them give Brady Lidster a good shot to see how he performs.shatto wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2026 10:29 pm Liam has been a big asset to the team in the past, so hopefully the team will give him time to work out his problems. Has he always worked outside of football in season? Being in Guelph all year is clearly piling up on his ability to attend practice. If we was hitting 31 yard FGs to win games, I'm sure nobody would care. But since he isn't, thats a problem, not being with your teammates and then letting them down in games. Once they get settled back to Toronto hopefully an honest assessment by him and the team can be made to see if he still wants to play, and if he can participate daily in practice and get back to all star level.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 23, 2026 9:15 pm Lirim missed all three practices this week for "non-injury reasons." It's possible it's because of commitments to his non-football career, but I can't help wondering if he's taking a leave of absence to sort out his mental health. The death of his longtime kicking coach might really be weighing on him. I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt after all he has done for this team, but that said, sometimes the torch has to be passed to a younger player. Here's hoping Lidster has a great game and gives this team a good option.

I wonder what Kelly's completion percent is on passes over 30 yards? Why not try to move the ball down the field, use up clock time, and put the pressure on the BC offence which has looked terrible so far. Oh well.

7-0 at the end of the first quarter, with BC at about the Argo's 10 yard line. The Argos defence is giving up 5-9 yards per running play despite BC having a backup tackle playing. As usual the last few games tha Argos offence came out and scored a TD and proceeded to do nothing after.
I have been wondering if a weak link on the Argos defence is Darkangelo. He has one wiff whe Butler just ran right by him. He seems often to be out of position although that may have something to do with how the defence is set up. But also he doesn't seem to be able to stop RBs in their tracks at or near the LOS. Pickett has gone out of the game so it will be interesting to see how the rest of game goes.

They got the win. Santa Jude!
Just come on home, heal up, and we'll see what's up first day of practice August 2.

Well the defence was adequate against BCs backup QBs and offensive line. I thought Lemon added some spark to the line, and Kongbo and Shand played well.
Special teams were good for the most part giving the offence decent field position most of the time. Grant looked good. I am not sure about the rules for blocking on punt returns but it seems like the Argos don't even try to knock opposing players off balance and just try to run along with them.
What can you say about the offence. Other than on 1st down BC blitzed a lot and the line and RBs continue to have trouble picking it up. At least the offence didn't give up any turnovers.
There were a lot of injuries in this game so its really good that the Argos have a bye week coming up.

Can't be mad about the win. Hope the injuries sustained aren't too serious especially Kelly's.
Bye week comes at a good time. Arbuckle is good but it would suck if Kelly isn't able to start in our home opener. He pushes the ball deep and fans love to see a fast paced offense with tons of points.
With Arbuckle at the helm, it'll be a more calculated attack with probably more running plays called and a low event game.
Missed the pre-game. Did Lirim get hurt or is he on personal leave? Lidster was amazing tonight.

Argos pretty much dominated from start to finish. Defence was great, special teams were outstanding, and the offence was humming with Kelly while Arbuckle did a fine job in relief. The bye week is badly needed with a bunch of injuries and then finally a home game. They should be no worse than 4-3 but we will take 3-4 on this 7 game road trip from hell.
