Is Shawn Lemon getting the same treatment, getting sent to get gambling help? Did Marino need a psychiatric assessment that he might lack compassion? I know Kelly’s situation is unique, a first of its kind, but is this actually in writing and following what’s written or are they just making things up as they go? And where has been the union in all of this?ArgoZ wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 10:58 amThe psych test is an evaluation of his mental health. If these “experts” feel Kelly has a problem, then they need to recommend help, not shun him. That includes him getting back to his regular life, which at this time is a professional athlete.IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 5:29 pmIt will be good enough for me if these experts clear Kelly to return to the team. He already served an unprecedented amount of time for doing something that can't even be explained.

Re: Kelly
Excellent questions Gabe. I wonder if the CFLPA was hindered in representing Kelly due to the fact Randy prevented them from seeing the 80 some page report that the "Investigators from Saskatchewan " comprised.ArgoGabe22 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 11, 2024 1:54 pmIs Shawn Lemon getting the same treatment, getting sent to get gambling help? Sarcasm font on….I hope they got more experts from Saskatchewan cuz I am certain they won’t have any bias….sarcasm font off.

The discussion regarding Kelly has been able to take place over a six-month period without outing the plaintiff.
Accusations are being made against players, which have no basis in proof. I want the site to be independent of the team, but not needlessly piss them off either.
I don't want a potential lawsuit for slander/libel on my hands.

Re: Kelly
More evidence the CFL HQ "best before date" has well passed.
Apparently, the guy who walked down to the Redblacks bench and yelled racial slurs at the players and head coach was on the field officially with a league employee? He was a guest of a league employee?
And so far, the CFL is just reviewing accreditation policies??
I am pretty sure a CFL harassment policy was violated. If so, where are the repercussions against itself?

Re: Kelly
While I completely agree that the behaviour of the "guest of a league employee" was awful and totally inappropriate, it was a guest, not an employee of the league, so I think a review of who is allowed on the field seems appropriate or what guidelines are in place to bring guests to game and what is expected of them etc. I think likely the best they can do is ban the guest from any future games and talk to the employee about it in the hopes that nothing like it happens again.
Re: Kelly
The guest of a league employee uttering racial slurs does in fact reflect poorly on the league employee who should be embarrassed.kellynjk wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 2:10 pm While I completely agree that the behaviour of the "guest of a league employee" was awful and totally inappropriate, it was a guest, not an employee of the league, so I think a review of who is allowed on the field seems appropriate or what guidelines are in place to bring guests to game and what is expected of them etc. I think likely the best they can do is ban the guest from any future games and talk to the employee about it in the hopes that nothing like it happens again.

So he walked up to the bench yelling racial slurs unprovoked, got out of that situation alive and his identity is being protected?GreyCup1971 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 1:49 am More evidence the CFL HQ "best before date" has well passed.

Re: Kelly
I understand this is a bit different but a Red Sox player was suspended 2 games for using a slur on a fan. That is 0.012% of the season.GreyCup1971 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 1:49 am More evidence the CFL HQ "best before date" has well passed.
