I ran into Rob Crifo many moons ago at the Skydome. I asked him about coach Faragalli. He replied that he was a "nice guy".gilthethrill wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2026 8:02 pm It appears that the much heralded " Bomb Squad" of 1995 isn't going to be mentioned, then I will. Masotti, Fairholm, Climie, Crifo & Branch where supposed to team with QB Kent Austin to form a prolific aerial attack. Toronto Sun even had a full page color photo of them wearing pilot gear just prior to that forgettable regular season.
Where does this receiving corps rank for you?

Hindsight is 20/20, but was there legitimate optimism about that 1995 team? I just remember it being very, very bad.

My recollection, which may be inaccurate, was that there was optimism based largely on the QB combo of Austin and Graves, and the additions of Fairholm and Climie to the receiving corps. It dissipated quickly IIRC.

Unfortunately, Graves never realized his potential and Austin's best days were behind him by the time he landed in Toronto.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 2:56 pm My recollection, which may be inaccurate, was that there was optimism based largely on the QB combo of Austin and Graves, and the additions of Fairholm and Climie to the receiving corps. The team never gave Pat Coleman a fair opportunity.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 2:56 pm My recollection, which may be inaccurate, was that there was optimism based largely on the QB combo of Austin and Graves, and the additions of Fairholm and Climie to the receiving corps. Thanks, I was 8 and attending games, but not paying attention to the behind the scenes except for that Kent Austin was bad.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 2:56 pm My recollection, which may be inaccurate, was that there was optimism based largely on the QB combo of Austin and Graves, and the additions of Fairholm and Climie to the receiving corps. The defence was also bad looking back.

The Argos struck out on Foggie (as a starter), Ham and Austin all within a 4-year span. Ironically, their best season in that dreadful 92-95 era was with Graves and journemyan Mike Kerrigan at QB..ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 8:50 pmUnfortunately, Graves never realized his potential and Austin's best days were behind him by the time he landed in Toronto.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2026 2:56 pm My recollection, which may be inaccurate, was that there was optimism based largely on the QB combo of Austin and Graves, and the additions of Fairholm and Climie to the receiving corps. Deserving recognition for David Ungerer to be nominated for Outstanding Canadian. I wish him well in that regard along with the other Argo nominees. Without a doubt Jim Barker and John Hufnagel have a strong team.
In response to Ungererer's nomination I put as my fantasy captain thinking Horn will be checking down a lot. We'll see. My team has faded anyway.
