Well take the win but this is on Dinwiddie. Take the points when you can. Wouldn’t have to go the a rouge to get the win.

Wow - for a win, one of the most annoying & frustrating Argo games i have ever seen; shoulda won by 20+ points.

Gotta fix that feeble first and goal offence; why would you hand the ball to a little smurf back like McMahon into the teeth of the D; and Dukes is a shifty good runner, but a small frame QB with little power; find a big back (Adebobye might do the trick) with power, have the QB under C, and hand-off off tackle = this works 9 times out of 10, IMO. Shades of a Wally Bouno BC offence that similar laughable problems a few years back.

Kudos to the D for playing very well after Harris and the Riders O looked like they were going to walk all over them early.

And BTW, the Riders DBs got away with at least 3 blatant intereference plays: the dropped end-zone shot that got over-turned = it was dropped but obvious PI before; the flea-flicker play was also blatant PI; and late in the game down the middle to Daniels, the DB swats his hands clearly before the ball gets there = that is PI. CFL refs and CC need to be educated on what PI is.

That was annoying to say the least. It didn't feel like much of a win at all, and that rouge was the icing on the cake. Being stuffed on 3rd and goal from just outside of the endzone on THREE separate drives has to be some sort of CFL record.

The Argonauts deserved to win that game, though it sure sounds funny now that I hear myself saying it.

Our defense was dominant all over the field. That Milton kid can play, I don't recall anyone saying his name so far this season. Sopik is a beast. Holly and robbie Smith had good games. For three quarters, they made Trevor harris and a top western team look like dirt.

What a difference a Chad Kelly makes. Clearly in a tier of quarterback above arbuckle and Dukes. Even with some visible rust, he was terrific. Great to see coxie squeezing the ball better. I was hard on davaris earlier, and there were a few he could have had given his paycheque, but he and Kelly were not on the same page. Bunch of throws were behind him or off the mark.

Ungerer thriving under Kelly once again. Polk looked pretty good.

Carey had a bad night. A few times on the goal line, he ran toward it with a full head of steam, then pulled up right at the line and tried to do a little dink around the defender and got caught every time. Dukes was useless as the short yardage qb. He was actually lucky to get in there on the lone touchdown.

I'm shaking my head at the Oline. Kept Kelly pretty clean, but my God, they must feel humiliated. I've never seen an oline get stood up so bad, in all my years watching football.

I think part of the short yardage struggles were on dinwiddie. Instead of dialing up exotic short yardage plays, I wish he had just kept it simple and kept hammering.

Oh well, they don't ask how... ;)

Tied or losing for 59:59 and win on a point earned from a missed field goal...classic CFL but a win is a win.

Some good points, OV. Adeboboye was a game-time decision but I don't think he played. He would have been a good option on those plays.

I am still partial to running your regular offence in those situations rather than bringing everyone into the box.

Howard Berger was so upset with the Command Centre that he says on Twitter that he is done with the CFL. Seems like an overreaction to me.

Now you know why. Except that game vs Edmonton where they probably overcompensated trying to defend Tre Ford's running threat, the Riders defend the run really well. They've given up under 4 yards a carry 7 of 11 games.

Nice crowd tonight. Really enjoyed the atmosphere.

I note that Saskatchewan was on a short week after getting in a physical battle with Montreal. The Argos should have dominated the 4th quarter, and they did except for the O line on rushing plays.

Its a win at least, and it didn’t look like there were any serious injuries. The officiating was pretty bad on both sides of the ball.

I think Daniels must be nursing an injury. He just doesn’t look like the same player as last year.

I agree that there is a huge difference between Kelly and the backups. The only positive I can think of about Dukes is that it is unlikely any other team will poach him when his contract is up.

On to Hamilton....go Argos

Wow.
Game 10 and Toronto gets to field their 1st team.
Attendance just shy of 20,000.
Labour Day, which donates the start of the real football season coming up.
Let’s go on a run.
I can’t wait to see the 2 - 8 Ticats welcome next week.
They love the Argos at the best of time. lol

Berger pissed me off. Leave for all we care, just don’t spread the negativity. It was a wonderful night, whole day actually. I got the day off work, took the family to the Ex, enjoyed some live football with friends and the good crowd. Feed off the energy and we still won. To lose that experience all because of CC or whatever is stupid. The game had all sorts of craziness, but you’re fooling yourself if you think nothing controversial ever happens in the NFL.
