If the Elks win tomorrow then I'm starting an 'Elks Win Again" thread and this one will be locked :D

The whole purpose of this thread was for me to double down on my pre season comments regarding the signing of MBT, in which I said at the time it was a dumb signing. If they continue to win with Ford at the helm, then this thread should be closed. Point proven.

Edmonton is back in the fight. Ford got hurt though. Hope he's okay. They get the TiCats next. A very winnable game. Things are looking on the upside for the Elks.

1-8 with MBT as their starter now.

Coulda easily won this game if Bede does not blow that makeable FG earlier.

Power run game had them in it; Argos gave the Als their only loss with an applied, diverse ground game. IF Jarious Jackson can stick to this and get Ford back, the EE could win the mediocre West this year; EE defence is good at times but a lot of young guys who make mistakes.

I love MBT but I think that Ford has to be the starter when he is healthy. The offence and team play with greater energy when Ford is at QB.

Perhaps, but MBT was not good in the 2nd half. Their running game is what kept them in it. Worst decision? 3rd and goal and you throw a check down over the middle which had no chance. Just throw it in the direction of a receiver in the end zone and hope something happens. I mean, they had 2 opportunities to score TD’s after the missed FG. It’s lazy to blame the game on a missed FG.

Point is, if Bede had made that FG earlier, they just need a FG to win, so they could have easily run the clock down to little time left on that 2nd last drive and kicked the winning FG. I could not believe MBT throwing that check-down though to be stopped well short = very dumb play by a veteran QB; and they could have tried runs from there to punch it in anyways at that point.

You can’t definitively say that. Montreal may have run a different set of plays on offence with a 1 point lead than they did with a 4 point lead.
