I'm glad they didn't play Sweet Caroline on Saturday night. The whole nonsense of playing that song late game is a Boston Bruins thing, and I personally cannot stand it. It's slow and has no soul whatsoever.

When it comes to late game songs that bring the energy, nothing beats Shout by The Isley Brothers. I propose the Argos play that instead of Sweet Caroline.

I hate Sweet Caroline. Sue me. I don't care.

Edmonton at 5-10 cannot crossover on Toronto, because the tiebreaker always goes to the team in the division that would otherwise be knocked out. Calgary at 4-9-1 still theoretically has a shot.

Actually, I don't think it matters if CGY wins this week, an Argos win over Winnipeg would mean that Calgary can finish with the most 17 points (8-9-1) where as Argos would be (9-9), but they still need Winnipeg to be Hamilton.
My calculations (which might be wrong) suggest that to make the playoffs in the East Division (ignoring crossover possibilities and potential ties):

Ottawa:
1. win one game OR
2. Hamilton loses one game

Toronto:
1. win two games OR
2. Hamilton loses two games OR
3. win one game AND Hamilton loses one game

Hamilton:
1. win three games AND Ott loses three games OR
2. win three games AND Tor loses one game OR
3. win two games AND Tor loses three games

I could do without all the pounding music between plays. I remember going to sporting events and actually being able to have a conversation with the guy beside me.

Fred Locking calling down and distance between plays was all that was needed to create atmosphere back in the glory days.

Man, go to a game sometime at Tim Hortons Field. It is punishingly loud, and they blast music at the same time as someone is talking to (yelling at) the spectators. It's painful. BMO is a sea of tranquillity by comparison.

The binoculars that held 8 ounces of booze in each side were ingenious!

I still have them; brought them out to a Panda Game a few years back and some kids in the crowd were laughing their heads off. Might break them out for the last RedBlacks game in Oct. (or possibly their home play-off game ?)
