I'm not as concerned with the DB and LB corps (on paper) as I am about the DL.

I think former Bomber Donald Rutledge is going to be a good acquisition as well.RichK wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 1:36 amEven without Amos and Adeleke the secondary is loaded with talent and experience:Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 6:35 pm The Argos need to build an entire defence. What's left McManis? Judge, Varga?
Milton (what a find this guy was)
Franklin
McFadden
Blackburn/Edouard
Bratton
Mauger
Throw in some new talent and I’m good with this group

Saw an unconfirmed report that Carey will re-sign with the Argos. Anyone have any further info re this report?
Re: 2024-2025 Offseason Transactions Page
The Argos have signed a couple of ex NFLs that might make the team, if they have not lost motivation and learn to adapt to the Canadian game. Craig James (DB) was on the team's neg list and played 23 games in the NFL. Vyncint Smith (WR) played 29 games in the NFL. Both are 28, so should have something left in the tank, unless injuries have slowed either of them down. So often high profile ex NFL players disappoint when they come to the CFL. Not sure if it is due to their underestimating the level of play or just lack of motivation. Let's hope at least one of these two prove they can play in this league.

Neither of these guys are high profile ex-NFL players.shatto wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2025 4:55 pm The Argos have signed a couple of ex NFLs that might make the team, if they have not lost motivation and learn to adapt to the Canadian game. I'm sure there are success stories here, too.

Will, you are right but what I was indicating was people often give a higher profile to an ex NFL than other recruits, especially if that recruit is from a Canadian university.

I know that this potential signing may be polarizing among Argo fans but Pete Robertson is still available. He can be a productive DE but has some discipline issues. In fact, he cost the Riders at least one game last season due to his indiscipline.

We just lost Tunde Adeleke to Ottawa. This one stung a little because I felt he played well in the late part of the season and couldve have filled in for other recent departures. However he's an Ottawa boy.
