There is an American poster on CFL.ca forums. He is pretty connected to the league. I also have since read an article that declares the same information.AngeloV wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 10:44 amWho starts these rumours???gilthethrill wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 5:10 am Rumor has I only 2-3 K tickets have been sold for tomorrow nights season opener in Houston. Re: 2025 UFL Season
Despite poor attendance and less than stellar tv ratings for week 1, the UFL has announced that 2 expansion teams for 2026 will be named later this season. Rumor has it that Seattle will return after being dumped 2 seasons ago ( due to poor attendance & high travel costs from Arlington, but hey, things will be different this time) & Columbus OH are the 2 new entries.

I am sure that fans in Seattle and Columbus are just clamouring for this.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Wed Apr 02, 2025 11:53 pm Despite poor attendance and less than stellar tv ratings for week 1, the UFL has announced that 2 expansion teams for 2026 will be named later this season. Re: 2025 UFL Season
The league has been besieged with the sudden departure of both HCs & Co-Ordinators this season. Defenders HC & DC depart for the NCAA, Memphis HC Ken Wisenhunt, who is an "NFL Legend" according to the broadcast crew has stepped down twice this season and in San Antonio, the league Suits apparently forced the departure of the team's OC and yesterday HC Wade Phillips stepped down possibly due to health issues.
But all is well with improved week 3 attendance & tv ratings.

Re: 2025 UFL Season
Looks bleak today, but expansion is on the horizon. Player 54....or if you include practice rosters...player 69. Pretty fitting for a league once run by Vince McMahon and taken over by one of his top stooges.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 4:24 am The league has been besieged with the sudden departure of both HCs & Co-Ordinators this season. The league announced that 4 of the 8 teams are relocating for 2026. Memphis, Houston, Michigan and Birmingham are moving to Boise Idaho, Columbus Ohio, Lexington (and area) Kentucky and either Tampa Bay or Orlando Florida.
The entire iconic "USFL Conference" is no more.

Michigan is a surprise, given how UFL fans were bragging on Twitter about their increased attendance this past season.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 11:44 am The league announced that 4 of the 8 teams are relocating for 2026. The reality is that it doesn't matter where they put their teams, as there is zero connection to the communities which they represent and 5 home games per year and a three month season isn't enough to establish such a connection. With the hub cities, most UFL players never set foot in the cities they represent, other than to play home games.

Re: 2025 UFL Season
I heard Ford Field cost $250,000 a game to rent. So $2.5 Million for the season. That's a lot of Coin for a struggling business. They had a reported 16,000 for a bobble head game, but I doubt they had 10,000 any other game.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 12:43 pmMichigan is a surprise, given how UFL fans were bragging on Twitter about their increased attendance this past season.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 11:44 am The league announced that 4 of the 8 teams are relocating for 2026. Re: 2025 UFL Season
The UFL has announced (with less than 6 months before 2026 Kickoff), that 3 franchises have been terminated. Memphis, Michigan & San Antonio (I spent a week there one night) will be relocated, somewhere. It was also announced that Houston will be playing out of an MLS stadium....Argos fans know how that is received.
I'm not even going to comment on the rebirth of the Continental Football League for 2026 under Commissioner Mike Kelly, the former Winnipeg HC.
