Argos need Kelly. Arbuckle is not a CFL quarterback.

How quickly you forget!
Arbuckle sure looked like a CFL quarterback last November didn’t he?
Admittedly Arbuckle hasn’t looked great so far this season and has displayed a past tendency to turn the ball over.

Arbuckle had a lot of time to pass today, and just didn’t play well. Nice bounce back game for the o-line. D was pretty good, but gave up some big plays late. Overall, run D especially was good, but unlike most, I thought they were good last week too. STE was averaging 3.8 per carry until the last minute and really padded his stats when the Argos were just trying to get a strip with the game situation the way it was. QB scrambles to me aren’t really a true running play.

That’s going a bit too far. He’s not a franchise QB, but even he knows that at this point. But he is a competent CFL QB.

He did have a good game in the Grey Cup.

However he is basically a journeyman. He has thrown more interceptions than TD in the last 2 seasons. Last four seasons 17 TD and 25 interceptions. Show me another QB with these kind of stats.

The only reason he is playing is because Kelly is hurt, and there are no competent replacements.

Maybe time for him to become a coach.

Even though Arbuckle is a serviceable backup, the offense loses a big play ability and mobility without Kelly. Even though the defense played better against the run today, they were still lacking in their pass rush particularly at the ends. They need to contain better especially against VA. I was impressed by Lanier though. He is the best d-lineman at this point. I wonder if the Argos are waiting on Breeland Speaks who is considered to be the best d-lineman in the UFL. He is playing in the championship game tonight with the Michigan Panthers.
Are UFL players allowed to sign with CFL teams after the season? I thought they could only sign with NFL teams. I assume there is another season for that league next season? I did notice Speaks on the Argos Neg List, he does look like he could play up here but I don't know if UFL players could just suit up for a CFL season after playing all spring.

Argos need to add to the RB room....immediately.

I don't think they can and I am not sure that playing 25 games in a year is a recipe for success anyway.

They may have to bring back either Mitchell or Kevin Brown. Only one healthy running back now.

Walter Fletcher is another good RB that's out there too. A Canadian RB would be helpful too.
