Here are some observations from tonight’s game:
The D-line really brought the heat but were burned a bit by Crum’s mobility. I don’t think that they will have the same problem against Bo.
Chatfield and Lanier were both excellent and have proven to be good acquisitions.
I thought that Arbuckle didn’t do too badly considering the one dimensional offense. He even used his mobility a bit which helped.
Darkangelo was very good as was Benjie Franklin. When McManis returns, Darkangelo has to remain in the middle and let McManis has to attack the opposing backfield. Franklin got shafted on his PI call by the command centre, which was utter nonsense. Otherwise, he was back to the level he showed in the latter part of last season.
Slywka has shown to be a shrewd acquisition. Not only does he have good athleticism but also strong awareness and instincts. I look forward to seeing him develop throughout this season.
These injuries are becoming ridiculous but as they say in football, “next man up”.
Great observations.
Only thing I will somewhat disagree with is Darkangelo staying on the field when MvManis returns. He will only be there in situations, because there is no way he replaces Judge.

Williams is in street clothes.
How does TSN not report this during the game?
Their sideline reporters do not have a mandate to stay on top of things, it seems. And it would be pretty tough for s single reporter to know what's going on with two teams anyway. Watching Claire Hanna on Friday night, she spent most of the game at a desk at midfield, not closely scrutinizing either club. Tonight I saw her around the Argo bench at the end of each half when she was prepping to interview someone. The classic missed moment was the 2022 Grey Cup when TSN had absolutely no idea Toronto's starting QB was on the sideline frantically trying to repair a major injury.
Sadly, the days of Bill Stephenson, Tom McKee, and Al McCann are long gone. Stephenson used to annoy Pat Marsden at times with how often he would chime in with important information.

I think that has more to do with teams not revealing anything than it does the networks not wanting to get the info. We’re living in the days of upper and lower body injuries now. No specifics.

Big props to Dinwiddie for his well-timed outburst last week. Boys responded to his outstanding motivational skills. Give that man an extension!

Darkangelo has done an admirable job filling in for McManis, Aaron Casey #36 also had a great game and looks like a keeper.
Greg Marshall looks like a genius recommending the team bring in DL Andrew Chatfield who has been outstanding.
Hopefully the offence starts to pick it up (especially the running game).
With Chop Villiams down, and McMahon they're playing Brown. The run game is non existent. It is tough they let Carey go. And he's not getting time with Saskatchewan. Anyone down for trading to get him back? He fit in perfectly here with what the Argos do offensively. Are those younger guys we kept better than him? I think they made the wrong choice here. Eventually he will need to be replaced, but you have to know what you've got is better. And these guys are not that.

I assume everyone here understands that there is no "saving" from putting someone on the 6-game. The $200k owing to Kelly for six games still gets paid to Kelly, but doesn't get charged against the cap. That means the team has the ability to spend an extra $200k without it being charged against the cap, but doing so would mean spending $400k in real dollars. If money is tight, who's to say MLSE would approve such an unbudgeted expenditure?
Question: Even though Kelly wasn't 6 gamed, if does end up not playing 6 games do the Argos have that extra $200K to use?

Trading away DANIEL ADEBOBOYE also looks to have been a big mistake as well

I totally agree with the secrecy these days, but couldn't the sideline reporter simply point out (or even regular cameras) Williams in his street clothes?
I wasn't expecting him to return but still it's more important than talking about Pat McAffree during a key 2nd down stop by the Argo D for example.
