I just took a look at the current standings and remaining schedule and tried to do a quick analysis to determine a path for the Argos to make the playoffs. At this point, I am resigned to believe our best hope is to hold on to third place in the East and prevent the crossover. I just don't think it is realistic that we will end up in second. I had originally assumed that Sask and Calgary would be 1 and 2 in the West, but with Calgary's QB injuries and B.C.'s sudden resurgence, that is no longer a given. I am also assuming Ottawa doesn't suddenly have a late season resurgence either.Unplayable wrote: ↑Sun Sep 21, 2025 1:49 pm Winnipeg has home games left against Hamilton, SSK, and Montreal. BC has home games against the Argos, Calgary, and Edmonton, and an away game against SSK. If Rourke continues playing well, it is likely they will win at least 3 of those games.
The Argos are 5 and 9 so the Argos have to win 2 games and Winnipeg and BC loose 2 games for them to be tied going into the last 2 weeks.
The way this season has gone for all the teams makes it pretty hard to predict what the final standings will look like. I think you are right. It will depend on how Winnipeg does the rest of the season that will determine if the Argos make the playoffs.
But regardless, in order for us to prevail, we need to have a better record than the 4th place Western team. So as I see it, as far as the Argos go, they must win 3 of their last 4 games to have any chance. Then, as hard it might be to stomach, Argo fans have to cheer for Hamilton to beat Winnipeg, for Ottawa to keep losing, and for the Western teams to beat up on each other in one way or another. If Sask and Edm can beat Winnipeg, that will help. There are many different possible permutations but I think if we end up with 16 points, we have a shot.
