( was good crowds earlier at MTL and Bombers) . If Elks had switched to Cody sooner IMO they might have been in play offs... Cody is pretty good... Elks Defense seems to be coming around... maybe its because of all the ex ARGO's they have...
Looks good on him.

Re: Edmonton Elks
A rookie HC in Kilam, and some injury problems (on a D that looked on paper to be potentially very good), were downfalls for the EE this year.
Fajardo is a vet, experienced QB, but that's not enough on a team that does not have enough coaching smarts. Coulda /shoulda won a few close games and they would be in the play-off mix.
Be interesting to see if Kilam and co. can progress next season; but same can be said for pretty well every CFL team.
Ford is a write-off to be a CFL starter down the road (for the obvious reason), but could have a decent CFL career as a good back-up / change of pace running QB.

Re: Edmonton Elks
I wonder if Hervey and Kilam now regret giving Ford the leash that they did ?
At least Ford gets to make a lot of money just to sit on the bench... Good on him I guess.

Re: Edmonton Elks
They made the decision because the fans wanted him over MBT last year. As soon as they brought in Fajardo, they should have made it a REAL (
Ford lost me last year when word came out that he refused to run short yardage when he was the back up. At this stage of his career, he should want to be on the field as much as possible. Looks like his stance still applies this year, because he still isn’t running short yardage.
Re: Edmonton Elks
Ford had such a poor win-loss record vs. MBT (who has looked sensational for the Als this year) for the EE last year, that i'm surprised he got to play at all and they didn't stick with MBT as starter for this season.

Re: Edmonton Elks
Well, he won zero games this year. He has shown no progress in his game. Try looking at him as a QB and not a Canadian QB. Try and be honest for onceOV Argo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 10:00 pm Ford had such a poor win-loss record vs. MBT (who has looked sensational for the Als this year) for the EE last year, that i'm surprised he got to play at all and they didn't stick with MBT as starter for this season.

Re: Edmonton Elks
We have to be honest about Tre Ford. He is in his 4th CFL season - the same as Davis Alexander - and the progress just hasn't been there. We all want him to succeed but his game needs to show improvement. It's great that he can run around like he does, but as a pro, you have to be able to sit in the pocket, make your reads and go through your progressions, and accurately deliver the football. We just haven't seen that consistently from him yet. Hopefully, it happens next season.
Re: Edmonton Elks
For sure, but that can be said about a lot of QBs; Matthew Schiltz, Shea Patterson, Caleb Evans, Chris Strevler - are some recent examples of QBs who have rated multiple CFL roster spots with starting opportunity on multiple teams - and none of them have made that "sign of improvement" as a passing QB. We shall see If Ford gets any further CFL opportunity.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 10:44 am We have to be honest about Tre Ford. And BTW, Ford's career CFL passing stats now are at 67.2 % completions, with 29 TDs to 19 INTs, so the notion that he is a useless passer who can only run, is total garbage. He will be a shining example however, for the GOBs to continue in their ways.
Re: Edmonton Elks
You realize that you just compared him to 2nd and 3rd string Quarterbacks right? So I guess you feel he is at the top of 2nd tier QB’s in this league.OV Argo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 12:59 pmFor sure, but that can be said about a lot of QBs; Matthew Schiltz, Shea Patterson, Caleb Evans, Chris Strevler - are some recent examples of QBs who have rated multiple CFL roster spots with starting opportunity on multiple teams - and none of them have made that "sign of improvement" as a passing QB. No argument here.
