For me, the Argos are the most underdog team in the most underdog professional league. This schedule is an absolute embarrassment and disgrace but in my head it's another reason why I give them my full support! What they've had to deal with over the decades could kill and bury other teams and fanbases and yet the Argos are still here and there are still some fans. But does their ownership even care?

I love the positive outlook. This fanbase needs it.Stevoman wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2026 10:19 amFor me, the Argos are the most underdog team in the most underdog professional league. I will add that not only are the Argos still here, but they have managed to win often despite all that gets thrown at them. Hopefully one day ownership will give a damn but all they care about is profit and American money.

Re: Home Opener
I've no doubt written this before, but IMO their focus is not profit, it's enterprise value. Leafs $4.2B, Raptors $4.7B, TFC $750M -- all significantly higher than when Rogers first bought into MLSE. The value of the Argos was purportedly (but not really) $5M when Harry bought them, AND when McNall bought them, AND when JLC/TSN bought them. Likely much less than that when Schwarz bought them, and when C+S bought them. I've heard unconfirmed suggestions Braley paid $1 (not $1M, one dollar) for them. I doubt Bell/Tanenbaum paid anywhere near $5M for them. So their enterprise value not only isn't going up the way most sports franchise values do, it's going down. What are the prospects of getting it on an upward trajectory after four to five decades when it has at best stayed flat? (AV would no doubt accuse me of more negativity if he were still posting here, but it is what it is.)IssuesMcgee wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2026 1:28 pmHopefully one day ownership will give a damn but all they care about is profit and American money.

Since you mentioned me, I feel compelled to give a quick resonse. I actually agree with you here. My comments regarding your negativity had nothing to do with the business (financial) side of the Argos. My comments were regarding your negativity towards virtually every football decision they make.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2026 3:55 pmI've no doubt written this before, but IMO their focus is not profit, it's enterprise value. "Virtually every decision" is an exaggeration. Sure, I've had some pointed criticisms. But I had nothing bad to say about letting Dinwiddie walk, or hiring Miller. And I praised them for signing Pickett, Holley, Hendrix and Judge.AngeloV wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2026 7:38 pm
