The CFL reduced the endzones in 1986. Scoring went up.

FGs up to 40 yards have a 95% success rate, so I get moving the goalposts to make it more challenging. The NFL moved goalposts three times in its history, and had them on the goal line from 1933-73. NCAA goalposts were moved from the goal line to the end line in 1927, widened to 23 ft 4 in in 1959, and then narrowed to the CFL/NFL standard in 1991. The CFL can always move them again if scoring is affected too much. Change doesn't have to be permanent.

Like it or not, singles for punts and especially missed FGs have a terrible reputation for casual fans, which the CFL is trying to attract. I have long advocated for the pre-2024 kick-off rule to be universal for all kicks (no point unless a player concedes or is tackled in the endzone), though for reasons I don't get the league went the other way in 2024 by making kick-off rules the same as punts and missed FGs.

Not the worst time for the Argos to have a bad season. The Jays suck up most of the city's sports energy in the summer when they're not winning. It's like a tornado right now.

A year ago, could you have imagined he would never be ready to go at any time during 2025? Making predictions about this situation seems like a challenging endeavour, to say the least.
The 3downnation.com guys talked about this extensively recently. From their conversations with people familiar with this type of injury, recovery is usually 8 to 12 months with 8 months considered to be quite fast. Kelly is at 11 months now.

Obviously, the Argos' communications about this injury were confusing. I recall Kelly doing some pretty remarkable workouts last winter on his Instagram account. I suspect that, at one point, they believed Kelly was well ahead of schedule and then came to believe differently as the season progressed.

Nevertheless, he has been practising and there's really no reason to believe he won't be ready for training camp in another 7 months.

I could only watch the injury a couple times.... figure if that had happened to me I would be on the 3 - 5 year recovery plan... let alone being chased by 250 lbs players trying to tackle me at the legs... I know Chad is elite but I'm not surprised TBH,.. hate to see anyone get hurt.... hopefully he gets on the field next year.... but to me that injury was horrific.

Stamps O running roughshod over the wimpy Argo D - receivers wide-open; Mills over 100 yards rushing and averaging over 10 per carry. Brutal.

Here is hoping the Argos have a healthy Chad Kelly in 2026 AND sign Arbuckle. They will need both with only 6 home games.

Lots to decide in next weekends games. Other than Saskatchewan, every other playoff seed is up for grabs.

The Argos have not had their doors blown off this season. It finally happens in last game 2 weeks after being eliminated playing significant depth pieces. As bad and as frustrating 2025 was, there is room for optimism. Dinwiddie, Clemons do not enjoy losing. I have faith 2026 will look more like 2024 than 2025.

OK got the lone Argos TD...thank you. Takes a little sting out of an ass-kicking.
Yes the Stamps D was backing-off of course.
Kudos to Ginger Argo and the others who got on-screen for staying until the bitter end.
True Blue Argo fans for sure :)
And kudos to Lirim, thanks for being Mr. Consistency, and to Haggerty-the-holder.
