Glen Suitor said that Arbuckle is signed for next season. It sounded like Dinwiddie told him this.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 9:10 pm Here is hoping the Argos have a healthy Chad Kelly in 2026 AND sign Arbuckle. They will need both with only 6 home games.

Duggan looked the best of the three QBs tonight. He looks like he could be the answer as short yardage QB and seems to have the most potential to be a solid 3rd QB behind Kelly and Arbuckle.TrueBlueGuy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 10:00 pm OK got the lone Argos TD...thank you. Takes a little sting out of an ass-kicking.
Yes the Stamps D was backing-off of course.
Kudos to Ginger Argo and the others who got on-screen for staying until the bitter end.
True Blue Argo fans for sure![]()
And kudos to Lirim, thanks for being Mr. Consistency, and to Haggerty-the-holder.

I am not sure what this game meant in terms of evaluating players for next year. When you look at the stats, things didn't look too bad offensively except for the turnovers and the inability to score TDs. The defence definitely needs work.
Here's hoping for a better year next year.

It is obvious the team needs changes (upgrades) and should be a buyer in the free agency market. But there are some talented players on the team, so using an old phrase, I don't want to see a case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Newcomers Slywka and Casey look very promising. With Slywka's athletic ability and size, I wonder if he could play the SAM position? Of the QBs who played this game, Duggan looked to have the highest potential. He demonstrated a good arm and good accuracy on short and intermediate throws. He also showed good mobility and strong running when required.
Next year is going to be a tough one with only 6 home games. Hopefully a healthy Kelly backed up by Arbuckle and perhaps Duggan as a short yardage 3rd QB, the team should have really effective quarterbacking. Role on next year.

I love that this crazy season ended with an exciting TD drive engineered by …. Max Duggan?!?! Talk about ending 2025 on a positive and maybe even prophetic note. Can’t wait for 2026!
On the down side I don’t think I’ll ever forget that asshole Dickinson calling a challenge in the last minute of a blowout win. Completely classless and I hope they get killed in the playoffs.

Lirim, Duggan and the Herslow hurdle were the only things worth watching tonight.

It took until Game 18 for the Argos to bust out their best road uniform combo. At least there's that.

Shout out to Mike Hogan and Ben Grant for the Great play by Play , Articles and Pod casts this year... Always worth a listen.... Great work / Thanks.
Also to Ginger ARGO , The Dictator and other die hards who made the trip out to the game(s).
Would be nice to hear what Calgary Stadium is really like. Can't imagine its as bad as people say on social media.... it must have some Potential (?)...and at least the Stamps are primary tenant unlike us ....
I guess we can't win every year.... lookin forward to seeing CFL and the ARGOs back in town hopefully sometime in the summer..
Go ARGOS

Re: Game Thread: Toronto Argonauts @ Calgary Stampeders - October 18, 2025
Pretty well.
My personal opinion is that the Argos should move on from Doegge as part of the QB picture. Having seen enough of him in the past 4 games, he hasn't shown that he deserves to come back. For whatever reason, he seems to lack "awareness" of what is happening around him, for lack of a better word. Or maybe it is pocket presence. Not sure that can be coached or not, but Duggan certainly showed enough in his limited time to lift him higher than Doegge in the pecking order, IMO.
Re: Game Thread: Toronto Argonauts @ Calgary Stampeders - October 18, 2025
Duggan does seem to have the talents required in the CFL. A good arm and accuracy, a mobile, powerful runner and appears to have good pocket awareness. It is probably not a good indicator to just judge him on his brief playing time last game. But he did play top level NCAA and won the award for best QB in NCAA and was runner up for the Heisman. Other QBs with similar credentials have come to the CFL only to flop rather badly, however Duggan could well start as the 3rd QB with short yardage responsibility and hopefully develop from there. At 24 he has a good amount of growth potential.
